SUPPORTERS
PROPOSITION-482 OVERRIDE

The Marana Chamber of Commerce urges a "Yes" vote on the MUSD budget override proposal. An educated workforce is the key to economic growth of our town and region. As a leader in education, MUSD needs to continue to be in the forefront.

Continuing the current override allows MUSD to provide appropriate class sizes, attract and retain qualified personnel and maintain critical classroom and support services such as counselors, aids, full-day kindergarten, fine arts, athletics and more.

In short, the Marana Chamber supports education and the economic growth our educated citizenry brings to the Town of Marana.

Audra Winters

President

MARANA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The home building industry understands successful schools are critically important to developing safe neighborhoods and vibrant communities. We also believe that schools in our community are valuable partners in the long term economic success of Marana. Successful schools only enhance Marana's reputation as a regional leader in Southern Arizona.

Homeowners enjoy higher property values in communities with the best schools. Demand for homes only increases in communities that have a reputation for supporting public education. Fortunately, you don't have to have kids enrolled in school to benefit. The entire community is entranced and enriched by a superior school system.

Please join us in voting yes and continuing Marana's legacy of supporting education.

Amy McReynolds

Past Chair

SOUTHERN ARIZONA HOMEBUILDERS ASSOCIATION

The Marana Education Association strongly supports the continuation of the Marana district's budget override.

In order to provide the highest quality education for our students, we need to retain exceptional teaching staff and continue the vital programs that make MUSD a leading district in the State. Our teachers are passionate and dedicated to changing lives through education. We are committed to meeting the holistic needs of our students and strive to make a difference for every child who walks in our schools.

Continuing the override will not create a new tax. The critical funds we receive from the override provide classroom and support services to provide our learners a deeper educational experience and our very youngest learners a full-day kindergarten experience. All our students will continue to have opportunities to participate in counseling, advanced classes, fine arts, academic programs and additional quality support services that are essential to building successful lifelong learners.

Please vote "YES" - for our children!

SANDRA FAULK

President

MARANA EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

Continuing to support the budget override by voting YES means quality programs and staff, safer schools, a stronger community, and higher property values. This is critically important not just for today, but for all of our futures. It's good for our community, good for our property values, and helps to prepare the next generation to be productive contributors to society.

I will continue to support the override because I'm a parent of MUSD students, and I am pleased and grateful that my kids benefit from an exceptional education.

I'm also supporting the override because I'm a homeowner and I know very well that my home values can be raised - or lowered - by 10 to 15 percent based on the quality of local schools. I will also continue to support the override because our children represent our future. This measure will provide funding to allow the district to continue to provide critical classroom teachers and programs.

PTF Vice President

I support the Marana School District because I know that they care about every student and are committed to meeting the needs of all children, i am happy to be a parent in the school district, i know my child's individual needs are addressed and that she/he is exposed to quality education, caring teachers, a safe environment that is good for her/him today and is preparing her/him for the future.

On November 3rd, the district will be asking voters to approve an additional budget override. This will NOT increase taxes but will allow the district to sustain class sizes, ensuring that every student has access to quality classroom and support services. This is critical to their development of knowledge and skills that are so important for success in the future. Since state funding continues to fall far short of local school needs, it is essential that we support our neighborhood schools.

Please join me and vote YES for Proposition 482 for our children, our community, and our future.

Investment in public school education is a crucial component of a thriving community. Marana schools have always been highly rated, and that's a big reason why Marana has above average property values and strong businesses. Continuing the existing budget override is important if our community is to continue to thrive and grow.

This override prevents us from having to reduce the number of staff at our 18 campuses. The state-appropriated budget without the assistance of this override would eliminate teaching positions from each of our campuses. During this new and trying time, it is more important than ever to maintain staffing levels in our schools.

Put simply, Marana has great schools because we have great teachers. If we have to start eliminating teaching positions from each of our campuses, our schools will not be the only thing that suffers. Let's continue to make this small investment in our schools for the sake of our students, our teachers, and our community.

Please join us in voting YES to continue the override.

Investment in public school education is a critical issue for the Marana community. Strong K-12 public schools are an essential gateway for students, leading to higher education, improved mental and physical health, and greater life success.

Marana Schools are committed to meeting the emotional, physical, and educational needs of our students. Our teachers are passionate about providing innovative curriculum and quality programs to our students, allowing them to learn and grow. Students in MUSD high schools can take college courses for college credit and access career and technical education courses allowing them to find their purpose and passion. Students are eager to stay in school and learn, knowing they have a purpose.

Your support to continue the existing override will assure continued success for the children in our community. That success will be reflected in the community we call home.

Please join us in voting YES to continue the override.

As a Marana Unified School District parent, I can attest to the commitment MUSD has to offering students the educational services they deserve in a safe environment. Teachers and support staff must be provided with the resources to provide this superior learning experience that stresses innovation, collaboration, technology, relevance, and rigor. Excellent schools create a foundation for excellent communities by equipping students with the skills necessary to be leaders and problem solvers as well as through community partnerships.

As a first responder in our community, I know firsthand the value Marana Schools place on developing collaborative and effective community partnerships in support of student and staff development, and safety. The fruit of these partnerships are safer schools and neighborhoods, efficient use of resources, and students who identify as valued and contributing members of the community. All community residents benefit from these community partnerships and excellent schools.

Let us use this opportunity to clearly convey support of our local schools, our wonderful community, and most importantly our children. Please vote YES!

As both a business partner and the parent of a GEM Student at the Marana Unified School District, I would like to express my support for Proposition 482. The special budget election on November 3rd, 2020 is seeking voter authorization to continue the current 10% Maintenance and Operation Budget increase previously approved by voters in November 2016.

If this override is not approved and the budget is reduced, it will weaken some of the very attributes that make MUSD special and valued by parents in the district. In addition, as a district business partner, I see first-hand Maintenance and Operation dollars in use on a daily basis and how they are essential to maintain the quality of district learning facilities and the education of our students.

A few of the areas that will be affected such as, classroom size, school aides, counseling, athletics, PE, fine arts, and advanced classes are some of the very reasons we send our children to MUSD.

Please join me in support of Proposition 482. A yes vote will allow MUSD to continue to provide high quality education and offer programs to students that prepare them to be successful members of our community.
